Custaloga Town Scout Reservation Deer Creek Crossing

Custaloga Town Scout Reservation Deer Creek Crossing project

The bridge project at CTSR is 99% complete except for a few small details and we will be cutting the ribbon at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Custaloga Town on Saturday June 16th at 3PM. The French Creek Council decided to purchase the Bridge from National Fuel and Gas and the used bridge that has been our crossing for the past year will stay as a permanent fixture over Deer Creek. The decison was made to purchase the temporary bridge, which will save the council over $15,000 in further costs. The bridge lifespan is expected to be over 100 years with proper maintenance as compared to a new bridge with the same life span. By purchasing the used bridge we will avoid additional equipment, environmental studies, and manpower costs which will have a significant savings to the Scouting program. The bridge will not be flashy but will serve the Scouting program for many years to come. We hope that you will join us at the ribbon cutting ceremony on June 16th! We want to thank everyone that supported this project!
