September 20 -21

BALOO, OWL, OLST for Scoutmasters Training

What: Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation or BALOO, Outdoor Webelos Leader Training or OWL, Outdoor Leader Skills Training for Scoutmasters

Location: Custaloga Town Scout Reservation

When: September 20 – 21, 2014 Registration from 8:30 am to 9:00 am with training starting at 9:15 am.

Who: BALOO training is for Cub Scout leaders and parents wanting to take Cub Scouts camping in an organized group format.  This training helps you learn to plan and prepare for camping trips with Cubs Scouts.  OWL is for Webelos Leaders taking Webelos Scouts camping.  This course is more advanced and participants actually camp out overnight and learn basics of camping and using the outdoors as an opportunity for helping Webelos work through the advancement in their program. OLST is the Outdoor Leader Skills Training required for Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters to be completely trained, if they have completed the Scoutmaster Specific Training.  This is a bit more advanced and focuses on teaching the patrol method in camping and helping the Scouts to hone their outdoor skills.  Venturing Advisor Leader Specific is just that, the training for the Venturing Advisors.

*Please Pre-Register for this training early so course materials can be prepared appropriately. Registration deadline September 12, 2014,  No Reservations after September 16th
