Ordeals 2015

Register now for Ordeal Weekends!

July 10th - 12th, 2015 & August 21st - 23rd, 2015

(Early bird deadline is July 2nd for July Ordeals and August 12th for August Ordeals)

Click here for the registration form. We are getting ready to have a great summer.  We have 200 candidates this year and will be in need of many arrowmen to help pull off a great Ordeal weekend for them.  Please get in touch with Justin Northrop at northropjustin9@gmail.com or (814) 573-2359 if you are able to be an Elangomat at either the July or August Ordeal Weekend.  Remember, "those who chose you, need you".  We also need many leaders for service projects.  We have a great opportunity to get a lot of things done for camp this summer and your help leading or being a member on a service project helps out camp tremendously. If you are not already a brotherhood member, there is also an opportunity to become one and seal your membership in the lodge.  Study your manual and bring it with you and take your test. Let's show them what being a member of Langundowi Lodge is all about!  See you there!

ArrowTour is coming!

Where:  Custaloga Town Scout Reservation (CTSR)

When:   Monday, July 27th, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Who:  Everyone (This event is open to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, Scouting Alumni, and the General Public)

What:  ArrowTour is an interactive event for Scouts, volunteers, and Scouting alumni that will travel throughout the country during the summer of 2015.

The purpose of the tour is to commemorate the Order of the Arrow’s 100th anniversary. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the Order of the Arrow, its story, and its future. Some of the program highlights include interactive exhibits, activities such as silk-screening and branding, and challenge games. Participants will have a chance to meet some of the Order’s national leaders, and alumni can learn about the Scouting Alumni Association and local alumni efforts to supporting Scouting in our area.

An exclusive ArrowTour Trading Post will carry ArrowTour and OA centennial merchandise.

The program will conclude with a special show that recognizes the Order’s rich history and empowers participants to help shape the organization’s future. The Order of the Arrow is creating a truly unique and interactive experience for all Scouts, volunteers, and Scouting alumni.

You can find more information about the ArrowTour routes and program on the web at http://arrowtour.oa-bsa.org.

A food booth will be open and hotdogs, chips, pop, water, etc. will be available for purchase.

How can you, as a member of the Order of the Arrow, help with this event?

1.  OA Member Volunteers are needed.  They will have a traveling staff of 6-8 members, but each host location needs to provide several more local volunteers to deliver the Arrow Tour program.  Please get in touch with Jacob Clabbatz at jclabbatz@gmail.com to sign up and help with this event as soon as possible.  Remember, many hands make light work, and we will need many hands to help set-up, run programs, man the food booth, and tear down.

2.  Spread the word.  Make sure to spread the word to Cub Scout Dens and Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venturers, Scouting Alumni, and anyone else who may have an interest in finding out more about Boy Scout's National Honor Society and their rich history.  Also, let them know that there will be a trading post and food booth where food and memorabilia can be purchased.

Arrowman Service Award is a means for every member to participate in the Celebration!  There are seven requirements to earn this special “sash patch”.  This patch can be worn on your sash and is only one of   3 patches that is allowed to be worn on your sash.  The others include the 50th and the 75th year service patches.  Don't miss out on your opportunity to earn one of these patches as time is winding down.
