The University of Scouting is a fantastic place and time to learn all about scouting as well as many other beneficial topics. This training is for all adult scouters as well as Scouts, BSA youth who are interested in spending a day with the French Creek Scouting Family.   This is the only time and place during the year where we have the variety of classes, but also so many resources in one place to help us all move forward in our scouting journey.

We will have trainings with information on topics that cover every corner of Scouting from Cub Scouts to long distance adventures for Scouts, BSA Troops.  Want to learn about the animals to look out for on your travels?  Take our “Yikes… What is That” or “Trails in and Around the Council” class.  Need to know how to treat water in the backcountry, we have a class for that.  Is your scout is moving up to a troop in the spring and have no idea what to expect, then our “A Scouts First Year” and “Adult transition to Scouts, BSA” classes are for you.  If you have been involved with scouting for years and want to learn something new then “Forestry”, “Birds of the Area” or maybe even learning about Geocaching is for you.  There is truly a class for all scouters, from the brand-new parents to veteran leaders who have been involved for years.

We are offering ILST Youth Leader Training for Scouts, BSA youth.  Not only is this a good place for youth to improve their leader skills in a fun training, it is also the pre-requisite training for NYLT that is offered this spring at Custaloga Town.   Scouts wanting to work on their leadership skills while helping with their local pack can learn how to become a Den Chief by taking that training as well.  Youth are also able to take the adult classes as long as they are not marked as an 18 and above course.
